Woman walks dude on a lead to get round Quebec lockdown rules
If you thought the lockdown rules in the UK were bonkers just wait until you hear about the craziness over in Quebec, where some of the strictest lockdown restrictions in the world are currently underway.
For starters their government have just imposed a curfew where people found outside their homes between the hours of 8pm and 5am are hit with an on the spot fine. We aren’t talking piddly chump change here either, we’re talking fines ranging from $1000 to $6000. Ouch. There are however a few exemptions as to why someone might be out past curfew. One of which is walking your dog, although you can’t venture more than one kilometre from your house.
As with any form of enforced restriction, you’re going to get a few people breaking the rules and one couple came up with a rather creative way of getting round the curfew. A 24-year-old woman and her 40-year-old male partner tried to find a loophole as she decided to put him on a lead and walk him round the neighbourhood at 9pm on Saturday night in the city of Sherbrooke. It sounds like a good idea in theory but in reality the pair were picked up by cops and got with a fine. Here’s what a local police spokesperson had to say.
One of them had the other on a leash, and she said she was taking her dog, pointing to her partner, out on a walk, as allowed under the exceptions provided by Quebec’s premier under its curfew law.
The couple said it would be their “pleasure” to receive the fines. The also added that it would not stop them from breaking the rules in the future and they would see how many tickets they could get. The couple were given fines of $1,546 each, and additional tickets of $100 and $50 for breaking municipal regulations.
Damn. Wouldn’t it be nice to have more money than sense. Also it sounds like a dominatrix and sub relationship to me. Looking at the age difference of the couple it could well be a rich older gent and his hot young mistress just trying to rinse his bank account.
