A brief dalliance with elegant looking Grand Tourers at the outset, but any delusions of restraint are put to bed with the arrival of the world's first supercar (the Miura) in 1966.
Things get progressively more bonkers throughout the 70s and 80s where, even during a potentially tricky period of Chrysler ownership, they still manage to bang out a car as legendary as the Diablo.
Fast forward to the present day and it's VW controlling the purse strings, with the majority of the range consisting of expensively re-badged Audis. Not ideal, but they are, on the plus side, quicker than ever and far less likely to break down. Swings and roundabouts really innit...
